21 June 23 – The Malaysian Armed Forces Defence College (MAFDC) 43/2023 continued its In-Country Field Studies (ICFS) to the East Coast with a visit to Kuantan Air Base (INSPRA). The delegation, led by the MAFDC Head of Strategic Studies and International Relation (HOSSIR), Col Ahmad Hasrizal bin Hj Hashim, embarked on a comprehensive program aimed at deepening their understanding of defence operations and capabilities. As part of this enlightening experience, the delegation was privileged to attend a second session presentation by Major Ashaari bin Shafie RMAF(R), Head of Division Supply Chain of Aerospace Technology Systems Corp. (ATSC) Sdn Bhd, which focusing on Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) and the One-Stop Centre for SU-30MKM.
The briefing session provided the delegation of MAFDC with a comprehensive understanding of the critical processes involved in maintaining and optimizing the operational capabilities of military aircraft. The session highlighted the importance of efficient MRO practices, centralized facilities and robust supply chain management in ensuring the readiness and effectiveness of the SU-30MKM fleet. Additionally, the session also addressed the challenges associated with the current situation. Equipped with this knowledge, the delegation can further contribute to the advancement of defence strategies and strengthen the capabilities of the Malaysia Armed Forces.
A ceremonial exchange of mementos took place between the delegation of MAFDC and the host representatives, symbolizing the mutual appreciation and gratitude for the valuable knowledge shared during the session.
