The Chief of Army, Gen Dato' Sri Zulkiple bin Hj Kassim delivered his Keynote Address to the Malaysian Armed Forces Defence College Course Participants Serial 37/2017 on 17 March 17. The title of his presentation was The Malaysian Army: Strategy and Concept of Development. He spent two hours for the presentation including questions and answers session.

The Commandant Lecture Series (CLS) have been an important activity in the Malaysian Armed Force Defence College (MAFDC) Course Serial 37/2017. This program serves as a platform for information exchange and productive interaction on strategic, security, defence, leaderships and international relations issues with selected prominent individuals. On 15 March 2017, MAFDC was honoured to host the Ambassador of The United States of America, H.E Kamala Shirin Lakhdhir as the guest speaker for CLS, accompanied by Col Ron Sergent, the US Army Attaché. She talked on “Foreign Policy Option and Regional Security: USA Link and Importance to South East Asia” and followed by a question and answers with Course Participants Serial 37/2017.

KUALA LUMPUR - The first Diners’ Club for MAFDC Course Serial 37/2017 was successfully conducted on 10th March 2017 at InterContinental Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. The guest speaker was Yang Berbahagia Professor Dato’ Seri Dr. Noor Azlan bin Ghazali, Vice Chancellor of National University of Malaysia (NUM). He presented a talk entitle "Transformation from Micro Lenses : What inside the Box" followed by questions and answers session. Among the invited guests who attended the event were; Assistant Chief of Staff (ACOS) MAF HQ, ACOS Defence, Operation and Training Branch MAF HQ, ACOS Personnel Service, ACOS Operation and Training Army HQ, ACOS Material Navy HQ and No 1 Air Division Commander and Commandant of MAFSC. The Diners’ Club is part of the course program that enabled course participants to interact with prominent personalities on related topics such as security, economic or current national issues in line with regional and global perspectives.

KUALA LUMPUR, 1 March-The Commandant, staff and all course participants of MAFDC, together with Malaysian Army course participants celebrated celebrated its 84th Malaysian Army Day on 1 March 2017 in Trisakti Hall. The celebration started with the singing ‘Gagah Setia’, followed by the show of Malaysian Army Montage. The event was concluded with a cake cutting ceremony graced by the Commandant together with Malaysian Army Course Participant.

24 Jan 17 – An Award-giving ceremony to the Best Employee for the Fourth Quarter of 2016 was held at Dataran Tadbir on 24 Jan 2017. The Award aims to honour the employee who had performed well in their job for the last quarter of 2016. It was also held as part of MS ISO 9001:2008 compliance. The recipient of the award is 1152563 Kpl Mohd Shahrizin bin Salih.

On completion of the award giving ceremony, a birthday celebration was held to celebrate 18 staff that were born in the month of October up to Dec. The cake cutting ceremony was graced by the Commandant.

The MAFDC 36/2016 Graduation Night was held on 20 December 2017 at Hotel Istana Kuala Lumpur. The Graduation Night was held in conjunction with MAFDC Course 36/2016 Graduation Ceremony that was held in the morning of the day. All staffs, lecturers, supervisors, course participants and spouses dressed elegantly in their Black ties and evening attire. All guests were enjoying the dinner with songs and dances accompanied by the Army's Engineering Institute band.

The MAFDC Serial 37/2017 is a year long programme that officially opened on 9 January 2017 by Commandant of MAFDC. A total of 44 Course Participants (CP), consisting eighteen Malaysian Army Officers, seven Royal Malaysian Navy Officers, seven Royal Malaysian Air Force officers, one Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency officer, one Malaysian Civil Service officer and ten International officers from Cambodia, Fiji, Indonesia, Jordan, Nigeria, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Thailand and the United State.

The Graduation Ceremony for MAFDC Serial 36/2016 was held at the Trisakti Hall and officiated by the Chief of Defence Force, Yang Mulia General Tan Sri Raja Mohamed Affandi bin Raja Mohamed Noor. This memorable and auspicious ceremony was also witnessed by other dignitaries from the military and civilian. All 44 CP walked tall and proud during the MAFDC Diploma presentation by the CDF. Three awards were given away to the following CP: a. The Best MAF CP Award: Lt Col Azman bin Jantan RMAF b. The Best Non-MAF CP Award: SLTC Lim Lit Lam (Singapore Army) c.
