UNITED NATION LOGISTICS OFFICER COURSE (UNLOG) SERIAL 17/18

MPC is conducting United Nation Logistics Officer Course (UNLOG) Serial 17/18 from 2 to 13 Jul 18. The course opening ceremony was officiated by The Honourable Commandant Kol Padman a/l K.P Bhaskaran. This course was co-organised with Global Peace Operations Initiative (GPOI). Among the objectives of this course are to prepare participants as Logistic Officers in UN Peacekeeping Mission and to provide sound knowledge and understanding on UN operational, logistics and administrative procedures. There are 32 participants involved in this course, including 23 officers from Malaysian Armed Forces, 2 officers from Royal Malaysia Police and 7 overseas participants. The event was followed with ice-breaking session involving the participants and MPC's staff.

MPC'S 23RD ANNIVERSARY PARADE

A parade to commemorate the 23rd anniversary of MPC had been held at MPC Square on 29 June 18. The parade was lead by Cdr Rosli bin Rejab RMN and attended by Honourable Commandant Col Padman s/o K.P Bhaskaran. The parade was also completed with rank promotion and excellence certificates giving ceremony. In his speech, the Honourable Commandant reminded all MPC's staffs to adhere to the rules and regulations, and always performing the role and task to the utmost best.

SENIOR LEADERS EXCHANGE MEETING PROGRAMME 2018

This programme is a bilateral activity between Peace Operations Center (POC) - Royal Thai Armed Forces (RTARF) and Malaysian Peacekeeping Centre (MPC). The programme was initiated in 2016 and is organized alternately between the two countries. For 2018's edition, the programme was held in Bangkok from 28 May until 1 June 2018.

MPC's delegation was represented by The Honourable Commandant, Kol Padman a/l K.P. Bhaskaran and other three staff officers. The third edition of this programme mainly focused on collaboration regarding peacekeeping training and instructors exchange programme, apart from capacity building by both peacekeeping centres.

EX PIRAP JABIRU 2018

MAF was offered for Ex PIRAP JABIRU 2018 (PJ 18) co-hosted by Australian Defense Force (ADF) and Royal Thailand Armed Forces (RTArF) at Strategic Studies Centre (SSC) Chonburi province, Thailand from 21 May until 1 Jun 18. Selected candidates were Maj Norhisham bin Hassan from Malaysian Peacekeeping Centre (MPC) and Lt Cdr Shahrizan bin Sahari RMN from Joint Warfare Centre (PESAMA). There were a total of 89 participants from over 20 countries. The exercise officially opened by the Chief of Defense Force RTArF and Deputy Chief of Defense Force ADF on 21st May 18.


Co-hosted by Thailand and Australia since 1998, this year marks the 20th anniversary of the exercise. PJ 18 is peacekeeping oriented with the goals of developing knowledge and understanding as well as exchange of experience among participants so as to perform effectively in the UN Peacekeeping mission. Ultimately, the exercise is intended to enhance collaboration and relationship of all participants.


The programmed schedulde for this exercise including central presentation by the Directing Staff from Peace Operation Training Centre (POTC) Australia and Peace Operation Centre (POC) Thailand, guest lecture from ICRC, OCHA and NGO, syndicate discussion and INSTEX. In additional, participants also involved in cultural visit to Royal Thai Navy Ship HTMS Chakri Naruebet, Thai Navy Special Force, Sea Turtle Conservation Centre and community relationship with children at Bantaelman School, Chonburi.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING AND WORKSHOP ASSOCIATION OF ASIA PACIFIC PEACE OPERATIONS TRAINING CENTERS (AGM AAPTC) 2018

A delegation from MPC had attended the event which was held in Seoul, South Korea from 20 until 25 May 2018. MPC's delegation was headed by the The Honourable Commandant, Kol Padman a/l K.P Bhaskaran and accompanied by Lt Kdr Mohd Fazli bin Jamsuri TLDM.

This is an annual event involving peacekeeping centres around Asian Pasific countries which is dedicated to train and impart the peacekeeping modules towards military personnel, police and civillian who will be deployed to UN's peacekeeping mission areas around the world. This year summit theme was 'Embracing Challenges of Modern Peacekeeping Operations: Opportunities for Asia Pacific Nations'.

A number of 20 countries had participated in this meeting, which was also attended by special guest Lt Gen Carlos Alberto Dos Santos Cruz (Rtd) from Brazil (former MINUSTAH and MUNOSCO Force Commander).
