He was born on 19 September 1974 in Alor Setar, Kedah. He was enlisted in the Army on 10 April 1993 at the Recruit Training Center (PLR) and now known as the Army Basic Training Center (PUSASDA) for 6 months in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan. He was based at the 9th Royal Malay Regiment (Para) Terendak Camp, Melaka as his first unit after completing recruitment training on 3 October 1993. Throughout his service, he has shown a great dedication and determination through striving to succeed in his military career. As a result of his dedication and excellent performance during his 26 years of service, he has succeeded in created history as the first Regiment Sergeant Major of Malaysian Armed Forces (RSM MAF) on 27 October 2019.
Warrant Officer One Hayazi bin Abdul Aziz also held several positions throughout the service such as Riffleman, Chief of Section Assistant, Chief of Section, Platoon Sergeant, Probos Sergeant, Company Sergeant Major and Warrant Officer Parachuting Instructor in the 9th Royal Malay Regiment (Para) Terendak Camp, Melaka. In addition, he was entrusted to hold the position of Regiment Sergeant Major of the First Battalion of the Royal Malay Regiment on 17 August 2006 until 19 August 2009, Regiment Sergeant Major of National Defence University of Malaysia (NDUM) on 20 August 2009 until 30 June 2013, Regiment Sergeant Major of the Field Headquarters Regiment from 1 July 2013 to 29 April 2014, Regiment Sergeant Major of the Infantry Regiment from 30 April 2014 to 6 May 2015 and Regiment Sergeant Major of Malaysian Army from 7 May 2015 to 5 October 2019.
He attended various career courses and expertise courses throughout his service such as, Basic Parachute Course at PULPAK, Basic Clerk Course at 9th RMR (Para), Basic Signals Course at 9th RMR (Para), Abseiling Instructor and Air Rescue Course at PULPAK, Combat Detective Course at PULADA, Jump Master Course at PULPAK, Section Chief Course at PULADA, Unarmed Combat Course at 9th RMR (Para), Parachute Instructor Course at PULPAK, KPSP Course at 9th RMR (Para), Platoon Sergeant Course at PULADA, KPSMK and KPPTTK Course at IPDA. He had achieved excellent results in every course he attended.
He is married to Mrs Yusandayu binti Yahaya and blessed with two sons who empowered him to succeed in all the field. He spends his spare time by involving in spiritual activities as well as spends time with his family. He also a very friendly person and respected by his friends.
In his current position, he act as the advisor and responsible directly to the Chief of Defence Force on the aspects of welfare of soldiers and their family. Besides that, he is also answerable in the aspects of service policies, career and social affairs. He is also the representative of the soldiers to bring all the proposals such as opinions and problems to the MAF superior for their attention and further action. The RSM MAF should also accompany all the visits and parade attended by the Chief of Defence Force as well as provide feedback to the higher authorities on the action to be taken. He is responsible in supervise the RSM duties that involves regimental and management matters. He is also responsible in coordinate the human resource management particularly for the personnels serving at the MAF HQ.
