Vice Admiral Dato’ Anuwi bin Hassan was appointed as Deputy Chief of Navy
on 18 Nov 2015. Formerly, he was the Assistant Chief of Staff Defence Operation and Training.
He was born on 1st January 1959 in Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu. He joined the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) on February 1978 after completed his training at the Cadet and Recruit Training Centre in Khatib Camp, Sembawang, Singapore. He was commissioned as a RMN Officer in May 1980.
He has held a number of command posts along his services such as Commanding Officer of KD SERAMPANG, KLD TUNAS SAMUDERA and KD MAHAWANGSA. He was also appointed as an Assistant Chief of Staff Plans and Operations and the Director of Naval Intelligence at the Navy Headquarters, Ministry of Defence.
During his carrier in the Malaysian Armed Forces, he has attended several local and oversea courses including the National Defence College (NDC) in Thailand, the Intelligence Director Course in United Kingdom and a few other courses in Malaysia. He has holds an Advanced Diploma in Strategic and Security Studies from University Kebangsaan Malaysia and Masters of Degree in Maritime Operations from Liverpool John Moores University which is sponsored by the British Chevening Scholarship, the most prestigious scholarship offered by the British Government. He also has a conferment of an ‘Honorary Doctorate of Business Administration’ from The Victoria University, School Of Management, Switzerland.
He’s married to Datin Adida bt Abdul Aziz, who’s a lecturer at University Technology of Malaysia and they were blessed with two sons and a daughter. He also enjoys competitive golfing and bowling while his hobbies are fishing, cycling and reading.
