Beliau dilahirkan pada 6 Jan 1978 di Bukit Baru, Melaka.  Mendapat pendidikan di Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Bukit Baru dan Sekolah Menengah Tinggi St David, Melaka. Beliau mula menyertai perkhidmatan pada 14 Ogos 1996 di Pusat Latihan Rekrut Berek TLDM Woodlands Singapura. Setelah tamat latihan rekrut beliau telah diserapkan ke Cawangan Pelaut. Mempunyai Kepakaran Peperangan Atas Permukaan (PAP) dan menjalani latihan kepakaran Laskar Kelas II di KD Pelandok serta menjalani latihan sambil kerja (LSK) dikapal KD Yu selama 6 bulan. Selesai tamat LSK beliau kembali ke KD Pelandok untuk menjalani latihan Laskar Kelas I selama 6 bulan. Tamat latihan kapal KD Serampang yang merupakan unit pertama dan diperjawatkan sebagai Ketua Meriam 40/70 MM Bofors.

   

          Beliau juga telah menjalani beberapa kursus kerjaya dan kepakaran yang telah di anjurkan oleh TLDM dan agensi awam di antaranya kursus Laskar Kelas II, Laskar Kelas I, Laskar Kanan PPP(Q), Bintara Muda PPP(Q), Jurulatih Persenjataan(GI Q), Kepimpinan TLDM, Pembangunan dan Penilaian Silibus Latihan, Keselamatan Fizikal, Pengendalian Bot CB 90 dan Bot Tempur, Pengendalian Acara Protokol dan Istiadat serta Kursus Integriti.

          

           Sepanjang perkhidmatan beliau pernah bertugas di beberapa buah Kapal dan Pangkalan diantaranya KD Yu, KD Serampang, KD Laksamana Tun Abdul Jamil, RMN Stesen Terumbu Peninjau(PAPA), Bot Tunda Satu, KD Malaya, KDSI Pertama, Depot Peluru Dan Letupan TLDM, SKTLDM Parit, 96 HAT Lumut, Markas Logistik Barat dan terakhir di Markas Tentera Laut. Di dalam tempoh perkhidmatan beliau telah menunjukkan prestasi kerja yang baik, dipercayai oleh pihak atasan serta dapat melaksanakan segala tugasan yang diberikan dengan cemerlang. Atas sokongan pihak atasan dan hasil usaha yang tinggi beliau telah diamanahkan untuk menjawat jawatan sebagai Sarjan Mejar Rejimen Istiadat Angkatan Tentera Malaysia yang pertama mulai 27 Sep 2019. Beliau telah mendirikan rumahtangga bersama Puan Julainiakmar bte Aumran dan telah dikurniakan seorang cahaya mata lelaki.

Beliau dilahirkan pada 19 September 1974 di Alor Setar Kedah. Mula menceburi Perkhidmatan Tentera Darat pada 10 April 1993 di Pusat Latihan Rekrut (PLR) dahulunya dan sekarang dikenali sebagai Pusat Latihan Asas Tentera Darat (PUSASDA) selama 6 bulan di Port Dickson Negeri Sembilan dan seterusnya pada 3 Oktober 1993 beliau ditempatkan di Batalion Ke Sembilan Rejimen Askar Melayu Diraja (Para), Kem Terendak, Melaka. Di sepanjang perkhidmatan, beliau telah menunjukkan sikap dedikasi dan ketekunan kerja yang tinggi dan berusaha dengan gigih untuk meningkat maju dalam kerjaya ketenteraan. Hasil daripada kesungguhan dan dedikasi yang telah dipamerkan dalam tempoh 26 tahun perkhidmatan, beliau telah berjaya mencipta sejarah menyandang jawatan sebagai Sarjan Mejar Rejimen Angkatan Tentera Malaysia (SMR ATM) yang pertama pada 27 Oktober 2019.

Pegawai Waren Satu Hayazi bin Abdul Aziz juga telah memegang beberapa Jawatan lain sepanjang tempoh perkhidmatan, Di antaranya adalah sebagai Anggota Repalman, Penolong Ketua Seksyen, Ketua Seksyen, Sarjan Platun, Probos Sarjan, Kompeni Sarjan Mejar danPegawai Waren Jurulatih Payung Terjun di 9 RAMD (Para). Selain daripada itu, beliau telah diberi kepercayaan untuk memegang jawatan sebagai Sarjan Mejar Rejimen di Batalion Pertama Rejimen Askar Melayu Diraja pada 17 Ogos 2006 hingga 19 Ogos 2009, Sarjan Mejar Rejimen Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM) pada 20 Ogos 2009 hingga 30 Jun 2013, Sarjan Mejar Rejimen Markas Medan pada 1 julai 2013 hingga 29 April 2014, Sarjan Mejar Rejimen Kor Infantri pada 30 April 2014 hingga 6 Mei 2015 dan Sarjan Mejar Rejimen Tentera Darat (SMR TD) pada 7 Mei 2015 hingga 5 Oktober 2019, dengan ketokohan beliau, maka beliau telah diberi kepercayaan dan mandat oleh pucuk pimpinan Angkatan Tentera Malaysia untuk menjawat jawatan sebagai Sarjan Mejar Rejimen Angkatan Tentera Malaysia yang Pertama.

Kursus-kursus kerjaya dan kepakaran yang telah dihadiri beliau di sepanjang perkhidmatan adalah Kursus Asas Payung Terjun di PULPAK, Asas Kerani di 17 RAMD (Para), Kadar Pasukan di 9 RAMD (Para), Asas Semboyan di 9 RAMD (Para), Jurulatih Abselling Repelling dan Penyelamat Udaradi PULPAK, Pengesan Tempur di PULADA, Ketua Penerjunan di PULPAK, Ketua Seksyen di PULADA, Asas Tempur Tanpa Senjata (TTS) di 9 RAMD (Para), Jurulatih Payung Terjun di PULPAK, KPSP di 9 RAMD (Para), Sjn Platun di PULADA, KPSMK di IPDA, KPPTTK di IPDA. Semua kursus-kursus yang dihadirinya memperolehi keputusan yang cemerlang dan membanggakan.

Beliau telah mendirikan rumah tangga dengan Puan Yusandayu binti Yahaya. Sepanjang perkongsian hidup, mereka telah dianugerahkan dua orang cahayamata lelaki yang memberi kekuatan untuk beliau lebih berjaya demi anak-anak yang disayangi. Beliau juga memanfaatkan masa lapang beliau dengan aktiviti kerohanian disamping beriadah bersama keluarga dan beliau adalah seorang yang peramah serta amat disegani oleh rakan-rakan.

Di dalam jawatan ini, beliau bertindak sebagai penasihat dan bertanggungjawab terus kepada Panglima Angkatan Tentera mengenai aspek-aspek kebajikan anggota/keluarga LLP dalam ATM. Beliau juga bertindak sebagai penasihat kepada Panglima Angkatan Tentera dalam perkara-perkara yang melibatkan dasar-dasar perkhidmatan, kerjaya dan hal ehwal sosial anggota LLP. Beliau juga merupakan wakil kepada anggota LLP bagi membawa semua usul kepada pucuk pimpinan tertinggi ATM berhubung segala maklumat yang diterima berkaitan pendapat dan masalah anggota untuk perhatian dan tindakan pihak atasan MK ATM. SMR ATM juga perlu mengiringi lawatan dan perbarisan yang dihadiri oleh Panglima Angkatan Tentera serta memberi maklum balas kepada pihak atasan berkaitan perkara yang perlu diambil tindakan. Beliau juga bertanggungjawab untuk menyelia tugas-tugas SMR bagi perkara yang melibatkan rejimental dan pengurusan. Beliau juga bertanggungjawab menyelaraskan pengurusan sumber manusia melibatkan anggota LLP yang bertugas di MK ATM.

DEPUTY CHIEF OF NAVY

Vice Admiral Datuk Khairul Anuar bin Yahya was born on 8th April 1960 in Taiping, Perak. He joined the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) as a Cadet Officer in 1978 and was commissioned as a Sub Lieutenant in January 1981. His early days in the RMN were concentrated on enhancement training within and outside the country. Starting 30th November 2018, he assumed his current position as the Deputy Chief of Navy.

Prior to this command, Vice Admiral Datuk Khairul Anuar has held various appointments at unit (tactical) and operational/strategic levels, which include appointments onboard ships, ashore establishments in the RMN bases and staffing jobs in the Department of Navy and Malaysian Armed Forces Joint Force Headquarters. Among the highlight of his shore appointments were, as the Assistant Military Attaché at Embassy of Malaysia in Jakarta, Indonesia (1997-2001), Head of Naval Intelligence at Navy Headquarters (2006-2007), Aide-de-Camp to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (2007-2012), Assistant Chief of Staff Exercises at the MAF Joint Force Headquarters (2013-2015), Commander Naval Region 2 (Mei 2015-Jan 2017) and Assistant Chief of Staff Operation and Exercise, Navy Headquarters (20 Jan 17-29 Nov 18).

Throughout his career, he was given the opportunity to study and train in various local and overseas training establishments. These include Communication Course at HMAS Mercury United Kingdom (1984), Combine Force Maritime Component Commander in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii (2012), Master of Arts in Defence Studies, Malaysia National University (2005) and Master of Science in National Resource Strategy, National Defence University Washington DC (2013).

Vice Admiral Datuk Khairul Anuar is happily married to Datin Nik Noor Mahani Che Abdul Hamid and they are blessed with 8 children. He enjoys playing golf and reading.

Lt Gen Dato’ Sri Ackbal Bin Haji Abdul Samad, RMAF hails from the state of Johor Darul Takzim.  He was born on 4 September 1962.  The eldest of four siblings, he grew up in Klang, Selangor, before his family moved to Petaling Jaya in the late 1970's.

Lt Gen Ackbal was a student of the Boys Wing in the Royal Military College (RMC) from 1978 to 1980. With the encouragement of his family and his profound interest to become a fighter jet pilot he rejected several scholarships and career course offers from the Malaysia Airlines System, Malaysian International Shipping Corporation (MISC) and Sime Darby.  Instead, on 1 June 1980, he applied to join the Cadet Wing of the RMC in Sungai Besi, with the goal of becoming a regular service commissioned officer in the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF).

In 1983, Lt Gen Ackbal underwent a basic flying course at RMAF Air Base Alor Setar.  Initially, he trained for a year in the Pilatus PC 7 aircraft.   He then transferred to RMAF Air Base Kuantan, Third Flying Training Center (PULATIBAND III) to undergo a fighter intermediary flying course using the Aermacchi MB-339A.  Prior to his departure from RMAF Alor Setar, he won all the challenge trophies available, to include the Best Junior Studies Trophy, Best Pilot Trophy, and Best Overall Student Trophy.  He continued his success when at RMAF Kuatan he won the 1985 Best Student Fighter-Lead-In Trophy.

The early stages of his career saw him assigned to RMAF’s Squadron 6 and Squadron 9, where he flew the A-4 Skyhawk.  Upon transferring to RMAF Air Base Butterworth he was assigned to RMAF Squadron 11 and Squadron 12, where he flew the F-5E.   

            In 1994 Lt Gen Ackbal returned from Russia where he achieved currency in the MiG-29.  He was then tasked to stand-up and command RMAF Squadron 19, home to the newly acquired MiG-29N aircraft.  While leading Squadron 19 he lead and participated in an operation that provided aerial reconnaissance of Layang Layang Reef, a disputed island in the South China Sea.  He also participated in operations focused on the eradication of communist insurgents on the Malaysia-Thailand border. In addition to his operational responsibilities, Lt Gen Ackbal was a member of the MiG-29 aircraft aerobatic team, performing at LIMA (Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition)  in 1995 and 1997, where he was the solo display pilot.

            In 1990 he returned to RMAF Alor Setar to attain his instructor pilot certification.  He achieved this goal and was awarded the Best Student Award.  In 1992, Lt Gen Ackbal was selected by a RMAF Special Selection Panel to attend Test Pilot school in the United Kingdom. While undergoing the course, he flew numerous aircraft frames and simulators (19 types),which included the Royal Air Force's Jaguar fighter jet, the Russian MiG-29, the Czech Republic's Aero-Vodocody L-39 Albatross, the Hawk T-MK 1, the Lear Jet-Variable stability test platform, the BAE 146, the Saab 2000, the King Air, Air Gliders, Aerobatic Extra 300 aircraft, Boeing 737-300 simulator aircraft, Airbus A320 simulator aircraft, Hawk 200 simulator, Jaguar simulator, and the Eurofighter simulator.  His test pilot qualification allowed him participate in RMAF flight trials of the Hawk, Aermacchi, F5-E, Beechcraft B200T, and MiG-29 aircraft.

            After approximately 15 years of serving as operations pilot, Lt Gen Ackbal was then designated by RMAF to lead at the senior management and operational level.  This included postings at Formation Headquarters and the RMAF Headquarters at the Ministry of Defense. Among the posts that he held were the post operations officer in the New Fighter Aircraft Project team - Air Force Headquarters in 93/94, Staff Officer 1 for Security and Standardization at No.1 Air Division in 2000, Director of Planning and Development at the Air Force Headquarters from 2002 to 2004, Acting Chief of Staff of Planning and Development (5 months), Acting Chief of 1st Division Air Force (3 months), Commander of the Kuantan Air Base from October 2004 to February 2006, Commander of No.2 Air Division at the Federal Territory of Labuan from March 2006 to January 2007, Commander of Air Logistics from February 2007 to September 2010, Commander of No.1 Air Division from September 2010 to November 2010, Commander of Air Operations from November 2010 to November 2014, Joint Force Commander from November 2014 to August 2015, Air Operations Commander from 5 August 2015 to 20 December 2016.

            Lt Gen Ackbal also attended the following schools located outside of Malaysia:  Electronic Warfare course and  the Instructor Techniques course at the Naval Training Center in San Diego, California (1988), Royal New Zealand Staff College, Whenuapai (Auckland), New Zealand (1996), Simulator System operation and management course in Montreal, Canada (1997), and a course in academic, defense and strategic studies at Weston Creek, Canberra, Australia (2001).

            Lt Gen Ackbal awards include the Excellent Service Award, three times.  They were in 1991, when he was a flying instructor with the rank of Captain at the RMAF Alor Setar; in 1997, when he was the chief officer of No.19 Squadron at the Kuantan Air Base; and in 2003, as Director of the Planning and Development Division at the RMAF Headquarters. Also, in 2006 he received the national-level Malidur Rasul award (conferred to deserving recipients in conjunction with the observance of the birthday of Prophet Muhammad) from His Majesty the Yang DiPertuan Agong (Paramount Ruler). Besides that he was also conferred with several awards and Orders of Decoration at the state and federal levels as an appreciation for his services to the RMAF, nation and race. The honorary awards bestowed on him are: D.S.A P, D.I.M.P, P.A.T., S.A.P., S.M.P., K.A.T., A.M.N., A.P.P. and P.P.A.

In his spare time, Lt Gen Ackbal enjoys angling, photography, reading, and working on automobiles.  Lt Gen Ackbal is married to Datin Norainy binti Sahar Alam and they have four children, three boys and one girl.
