SUNGAI BESI, 16 Nov 16 - The Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) held a full ceremonial parade in appreciation and bidding farewell to the outgoing Malaysian King who will officially complete his term as the XIV King in December 2016. As the XIV King, His Majesty Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah is the Supreme Commander of the MAF.
The MAF has indeed progressed and developed, paving its way to becoming a credible, relevant and dynamic Nation's Shield under His Majesty's ruling over the years.
The full Ceremonial Parade held at the Chief of Army Square in Perdana Camp, was aired live and packed with members of the MAF as well as Defence Attaches to witness the special occasion as well as paying their utmost gratutide to His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen. His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Quuen's arrival was received by the Chief of Defence Force accpanied by the 3 Service Chiefs. His Majesty The King took the Royal Salute accompanied by 21 Artilery Gun Salute and a 5-helicopter Fly Past.
The parade was led by Lt Col Mohd Radzi bin Othman, the Commanding Officer of the 1st Battalion of the Royal Malay Regiment, involving 22 Officers and 541 rank and file. 5 Royal Colours belonging to the Royal Malay Regiment, Royal Ranger Regiment, Royal Armour Corps, Royal Malysian Navy and Royal Malaysian Air Force were paraded.
His Majesty, Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah is the only Sultan that have sat on the throne twice as the Malaysian King. His Majesty first sat on the throne as the V Malaysian King in 1970 until 1975 and became the XIV Malaysian King in 2011. His term as the XIV Malysian King end in December 2016.
