COMMISSION

Malaysian Defense National University’s Officers Cadets
- Passed Malaysian Certificate Education.
- Will commence their first degree (honor) study and military training.
- Will be commissioned as second lieutenant or equivalent after obtaining their first degree (honor).
- Promotion – after undergone certain courses, passing promotion exam, availability of appointment and recommended by higher authority.

Graduate’s Officers Cadets
- First degree (honor) graduates in specified field.
- Undergone obtain military training for 9 months.
- Will be commission as second lieutenant or equivalent.
- Promotion – after undergone certain courses, passing promotion exam, availability of appointment and recommended by higher authority.

TYPE OF COMMISIONS:
- General Duty List – Officers with first degree (honor) in specified field.
- Professional Duty List – Officers with first degree (honor) in medical and dentistry
- Special Duty List – A serviceman which had been direct commission to officers.

TYPE OF SERVICE

Short Commissioned Officer
-Served for 10 years as commission officers and granted the extension of service for another 3 years. The application for extension of service after 13 years should be submitted to the higher authority after 13 years for consideration and approval. Application as Regular Officer can be made after 5 years’ service and should fulfill the service required stated.

Regular officer
- Duration of service will be fix until the age of retirement (base on rank) and pensionable.
