KUALA LUMPUR, 22 Dis – 40 military officers course participants, both locals and from abroad, received their Malaysian Armed Forces Defence College (MAFDC) Diploma and the Malaysian National University Master Degree in Social Science (Defence Studies) during the Graduation Ceremony graced by the Malaysian CDF, YBhg General Tan sri Dato' Sri (Dr.) Haji Zulkifeli bin Mohd Zin. Present to witness the ceremony were The Chief of Army, Chief of Navy, acting Chief of Air Force and MAF senior officers.
MAFDC, was first mooted during the Malaysian Armed Forces Staff College (MAFSC) Board of Governors Meeting on 23 August 1978, on the need to have a military instituion of higher learning in the country. Participants from the MAF with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and Colonel equivalent are chosen and vetted in preparing them for higher positions within the MAF. MAFDC also extends its 1 year course to international students as well as to the Royal Malaysian Police and goverment officers from the Administration and Diplomatic Services.
Out of the 40 course participants, 19 were from the Malaysian Army, 7 RMN Officers, 7 RMAF Officers and 7 international participants from Brunei, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Jordan and United States of America. 16 participants achieved CGPA of 3.67 - 4.00, 11 attained CGPA of 3.50 - 3.66, 10 with CGPA of 3.33 - 3.49 and 3 with CGPA 3.00 - 3.32.
MAFDC Serial 35/2015 achievement Awards are as follows:
a. Best Research Paper:
(1) Lt Col Abd Hafiz bin Ahmad - Royal Services Corps.
b. Best International Participant:
(1) Lt Col Pang Chee Kong - Singapore Army Commando.
c. Best MAF Participant:
(1) Lt Kol Isa bin Daud - Royal Malay Regiment.
